Blogs making noise in Asia

Chinese Government Blocks AsiaPundit
Goverments have finally woken up to the power of blogs. The Chinese government has reportedly blocked AsiaPundit, an Asian Meta Blog. There is a suspicion that some more blogs might have also been blocked. Blogs, which talk about Politics, Foreign Affairs and Economics, are likely to be hit by such bans. Let’s hope that such jolts serve as wake-up calls to the Blogosphere to unite under a common umbrella and fight against such censorship. AsiaPundit throws some light on the tech heavyweights who are helping out the Chinese government in this censorship.

Mr. Miyagi starts a weekly column
Some more recognition for the Blogosphere as S’pore blogger Mr. Miyagi starts writing a weekly column for Singapore’s TODAY newspaper. As Bloggers carve distinct identities through their blogs, it makes lot of sense for Main Stream Media to employ them as columnists. Let’s see when this bug catches on in India.

  • @Anjali,
    It will be good if some bloggers get noticed by Mainstream Media. There are lot of good bloggers who will fit the bill.

    @IOIIO & IBH
    Don't pull my leg. there are better people around.

    @Patrix,
    I also read about the Typepad block.

    @Thennavan,
    Ungaloda raasi nalla raasi

    @Ram,
    Are you talking of the matrimonial profile or the blogger profile :-)

    @Gayathri,
    Looks like your friend is getting paid for writing a blog. Is she being forced to write a blog and more importantly, does she enjoy it?

    @ Magnus Astrum,
    I'll definitely install trackback sometime soon. Hv been quite lazy and hence hvn't done it so far.
