The Famous Four

Chennai’s Bloggers in the limelight

Chennai Bloggers’ Curses Harish, Praveen, Sandhya and Vinod have been featured in yesterday’s Hindu for their style of writing and also the subjects handled. Way to go guys!

Have you heard of Chess Boxing?

Discovery Travel and Living has started the new series of their travel show 6 Degrees. I was hoping that my favourite host Asha Gill would host the show. I was disappointed. The destination featured this week was Berlin. It seems people in Berlin play a game called Chess-Boxing. Does the name sound familiar? It is actually a combination of Chess and Boxing. The two players alternate between Chess and Boxing. How about punching the opponent at the Boxing Ring and then coming to the chess board and saying Check Mate?

Have you heard of half-brother?

The Indian press refers to Noel Tata as a half-brother of Ratan Tata. It is not every day that you come across this term. Google came to my rescue.

  • Last one is much more common in cultures (like where I live currently) because of the how the institution of marriage works in these societies. Namakkellaam idhu pudhusu thaan.
