Sambhar Mafia - Cooked To Kill!

Kaps & his Keyboard

As I looked at my Yamaha Keyboard today I could hear it say the following thing to me: -

Kaps,

I may not comment in your blog, but that doesn’t mean that you should be ignoring me. If you continue to neglect me, I might stop working or I might try and find a new owner.

Hence I decided to dedicate this post to my sweet keyboard. I have also decided to patch up with my keyboard. I intend to spend quite a lot of time on it over this weekend. In addition to this I have also decided to upload 2 pieces which I played recently (Don’t ever imagine that it's my composition…the first one is popular Western Classical tune which became an ad and the second one is a film song). You can download it by clicking here or here (I hope it works). If the problem still persists shoot me an email so that I can email it to you.

I’m still an amateur. Hence please pardon me for the scale / tempo mistakes that I make. If this experiment works out well I plan to upload more pieces during the following weekends. Please direct you PayPal donations / rotten eggs / tomatoes to sambhar [dot] mafia [at] gmail [dot] com

One recent song that has made a huge impact on me is Kadavul Thantha from the Movie Mayavi. Althought Devi Sri Prasad has been subject to a lot of criticism, I think he deserves to be commended for this number. My day is simply not complete without this song. The flute interludes and SPB Charan’s pleasing voice definitely add value to this mellifluous number. I will be trying out the above song this weekend.

  • Kaps, I can hear it wonderfully. Vaseegaraa tune as I type this. So it looks like you did not have to go to the site I mentioned for hosting.

    Keep hacking away at this talent - who knows where it might lead to :-)

  • With a keyboard & violin lying idle , I can't offer you much advice ! I had this dream of becoming a great keyboard player but ended up on the wrong keyboard (PC) ! There are some online tutor sites If I am right, perhaps try them out..

    Btw, I have book tagged you. Pls do the honors . (Visit my blog to find out more)

  • @Thennavan,
    I'm glad that u could hear it.

    @Me,
    No escaping...plz listen and gimme ur feedback.

    @Sriram,
    Thanx for taking the pain to listen to such mediocre stuff :-)

    @Prabhu Karthik,
    I hv problems hosting the file as the Yahoo Briefcase generates a dynamic URL. I'll try and change the links regularly so that the visitors can listen to it. Thanks for ur frank comments.

    @Venkitu Sir,
    Don't allow your keyboard to gather dust. Try fiddling with it sometime.

    @ioiio,
    This keyboard doesn't come with a escape key

    @Kaleidoscope,
    Carnatic Music + Keyboard = Good combination! Thanx 4 the links, will take a look sometime.

    @Sathya,
    Thanx 4 dropping by. Will visit ur blog soon.

    @Cogito,
    LOL! Thanx 4 tagging me...will do the honours soon.

    @Mitokondrion,
    It is never too late to play the keyboard. You can play ...but ensure that ur neighbours don't complain about it :-))

  • So what do I do to get to these well-hidden files? Or maybe you could upload it to Yousendit.com?

    By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:55 PM

  • Manoj,

    I'll check out Yousendit.com

  • I was going to blog on that very song (Kadavul Thanda) today. It is a wonderful song. The point when the female lead loses her voice, and then Charan takes over is beautiful. Simply stunning song.
