It’s Rediff’s turn to dish out sloppy stuff

The headline says “CA students to get loans from SBI”. What strikes your mind when the term CA is used? CA could mean Computer Associates (when used in the context of Technology) and could also mean Chartered Accountants (when used in the Indian context). The article goes on to say that the Institute of Computer Accountants has tied up with the State Bank of India to provide loans for its flagship course. Nobody in India (except maybe Rediff) can think of Computer Accountants when the acronym CA is used.

  • There was a Pope who visited France after a very long time. After landing, The pope was entering the Gate, and hundreds of reporters surrounded him, and started pounding questions. Pope's assistants gave them some advice, and it was decided to ask one by one.

    The first reporter was a little mischevious, and asked "Mr. Pope, what do you think about night clubs".

    Pope was shocked with that question. He didnt know how to answer. He wanted to show his ignorance towards such things. So he replied, "Night Clubs ! Where are they ?? What do you mean by that ??".

    The next day morning newspaper's headlines read "POPE'S FIRST QUESTION AFTER LANDING IN FRANCE : WHERE ARE NIGHT CLUBS HERE".

    - The Media is always biassed in giving hypes and buffs.

  • Computer Associates + Chartered Accountants = Computer Accountants + Chartered Associates.. Never heard of Chartered Associates, so the former CA is OK..
