Blondes with Blogs – Whom are you bluffing?

Rediff has a ToI/ET style presentation claiming that Hollywood celebrities like Britney Spears, Anna Kournikova & Pamela Anderson have blogs of their own. Don’t these celebrities have better things to do? When one or two celebrities started blogging it was seen as a novelty. The novelty factor is not there anymore. Let’s vent our anger by calling them CLOGS (Celebrity bLOGS).

Statutory Warning: Stop Clogging, it’s injurious to the Blogosphere.

  • I love the word Clog ... hehe --- should I get Drainex

  • Yeah, i too agree with tht. Blogging evolved as a personal stuff and as time goes on, people think its really a nice marketing stuff to associate with millions of bloggers just by maintaining a blog and allocating some 'Blog Account Manager' similar to a PR manager for celebs.

  • cant help it. we'll definitely be having more blogs and more clogs. A few friends actually started liking Chinmayi after reading her blog. They didnt know her before.

  • @Amit,
    Drainex looks like a good idea

    @Magnus Astrum Anand,
    I think the PR folks are running the blogs of these celebrities. Some of them may not even know the spelling of blogs

    @Deepak,
    Yeah....blogebrity sounds quite vague.....it is something like the metrosexual / technosexual

    @Gayathri,
    Chinmayi's blog is genuine and interesting. The other celebrities have joined the Blogosphere just to ensure that they should not miss out on the action.

  • Kaps,

    May be like Chinmayi there are genuine clogs out there, when everybody wants to be part of the action, why not celebrities ?

    What do you call normal bloggerss who want to blog, just because they want to be part of the action ?

  • Matter Mahadevan,
    My definition of CLOGS is Celebrity bLOGS maintained by PR agencies and third parties. If it is run my a different individual, it ceases to be a blog. It becomes a website / online journal. Normal celebrity bloggers like Chinmayi can be called Blogebrities .....the MSM and the Blogosphere already use this term.

  • Rajesh,
    Agree with you. As long as there is a personal tinge it's fine. Otherwise it is a Clog.
