The women of the DMK’s “first family” today took to the streets of Chennai to try and put more women in the country’s legislatures.
Party president M. Karunanidhi’s wife Rajathi Ammal, his daughter and poet Kanimozhi and daughter-in-law Durga Stalin led a march by the DMK women’s wing to press for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies.None of the three women have ever been in active politics or attended rallies or marches.
The Hindu is silent about the participation of the ‘first family’.

given his party's pathetic track record reg atrocities committed against women, guess its time factor that his family has to do all this!! i dont think even the father (??) of the party wud have thot that he will live to see a day like this...kali kaalam man!

I personally think reservation of any kind is bad for democracy.
What about promotion on merit inside their party ? MK will not answer that questions !
