Spotted at an Indian Restaurant
Please visit us between
11 am and 12 noon (from Monday to Friday)
and enjoy 10% discount and better service
I didn’t have a camera handy to capture it. Is it an indication that we should avoid their restaurant during peak hours because of the poor service?

Its a pretty common demand-smoothening tactic. A la "happy hours".

good one. there is an indian restaurant here in pittsburgh (India Garden) that offers 50% between 3.00PM-5.00PM and after 10.00 PM

:) They wouldn't have guessed it can be misunderstood like this!
By Krishna, at 11:46 AM
I guess everyone does that... The other day I went for an SBI customer meet and they were talking about Vishesh customers who wud enjoy better service in their banks... The guy behind the podium could not answer when one of the customer's stood up and asked if the rest of the customers would not get better service... :o)))

They could have avoided that "better service" gaffe !

@EV & Venky,
My point was about the service.
@Krishna,
They probably don't know the implications
@Somu,
Such open discrimination will cause ripples
@Cogito,
Rightly said. It shows poorly on their during off peak hours
@CS Sathish,
Yeah...it is an Indian restaurant
@Venkitu Sir,
I did have food there....never bothered to ask about this.

Maybe its their effort to try not to lose customers? That is some people from the actual lunch crowd who want the 10% discount may go in earlier?
Which restaurant is it btw?? :))
By Ranj, at 11:28 AM
Ha ha... Those melonheads didn't re-check the copy text for this ad?
By Jo, at 1:08 PM
@Ranj,
It is Chettinad Curry @ Tampines Mall...the food is also disappointing!
@Jo,
They wouldn't have realized people will interpret it in this fashion
By Kaps, at 11:59 PM
Which restaurant is that Kaps? Is it somewhere in Serangaoon road... LOL..
By Ram C, at 7:36 AM
I've tried the Chettinad Curry at Bukit Batok and the food is abysmal, to say the least! :)
By Ranj, at 9:34 AM
@Chennai Pages Uma,
We had some similar (off-peak) discounts in movie halls here. Guess this is pretty common
@Ram,
It is Chettinad Curry @ Tampines Mall.
@Ranj,
The food at Tampines was equally bad. Better to stay away.
