Heavy rains wreak havoc in Chennai

Large parts of Chennai and Tamilnadu have been battered by monsoon rains and normal life has been thrown out of gear. Schools and colleges have been closed, power supply has been affected and international flights have been diverted to nearby airports like Trivandrum and Bangalore.

  • Yesterday, I was watching SUN TV news and was waiting for MK to issue statement against the nature for raining like this..Luckily,he didn't ... :-) But it was terrible to watch several areas submerged in water.

  • Yeah it was so bad yesterday... I dont know how i even had the courage to venture to work... returned at the same pace half way through !

Most people didnt have power all through the day !!!

I got a few calls from friends, colleagues from Mumbai saying "I know how it would be. Take care"... Luckily for me, being in 2nd floor did not pose a threat...

Some houses have been flooded ...

Today as per MET cyclone should have passed the coastal regions by now... as always, contrary to what they say, its been bright and sunny :o)
