Born in the air

I was filling up an online form and one of the fields was related to the Country of Birth. While scrolling down to select India, I noticed that “In the Air” was also mentioned as one of the options. I have never come across this before. Since women who are in the advanced stage of pregnancy are not allowed to fly, how can kids be born in the air?

  • It's probably a spiritual state of being invented by women who deal with labour using karmic theories of pain relief that help them levitate and give birth in the...never mind. Good one :-)

  • people do have premature babies. also, there are people who fly in advanced stages of their pregnency. the 'not allowed' part is not v strictly enforced. i know a lady who flew in her 8th month and actually it harmed her baby cz the kid cant hear and has a cleft palette

  • Trust Ferrari to come up with such trivia :) Then again as others have already said maybe its something to do with the 'gas and air' painkiller they give you in some hospitals :))

  • Prerona's instance gives me quite the creeps.. but there are times when it can't be avoided..like when people were evaquating Iraq for instance

  • what kind of a site was this ? probably it was just mentioned for fun.

  • well, airlines suggest that women 32 weeks or more dont travel, but no one really enforces that. doctors in india and elsewhere too are more than willing to issue 'certificates' saying that its safe for their patient to fly etc etc

  • he he ...ethukku thaan kanda kanda matter site ku poga kuduthu nu solluroom :-)

    By Blogger Jagan, at 10:48 AM

  • Lol.. that is funny :))
    So.. which country's citizenship will this child have ?

    But i guess it can happen. Like delivery in the plane. Wont be very unusual.

    Some air-head must have thought of putting it in the form though.

  • @Vanathi,
    Thanks for dropping by

    @TDU,
    I think it is much more than a spiritual state of mind

    @Prerona,
    Even I thought on similar lines....thanks for the clarification

    @Visithra,
    The point gets emphasized more if more people say it

    @Sundar,
    Thanks for the link.....it was useful:-)

    @Ferrari,
    That was a gr8 piece of info :-)

    @Death Head Roy,
    I don't remember coming across this in movies

    @Nallavan,
    Researchers often lose their hair....do u want that to happen to me?

    @Chikuado,
    Quite possible

    @Rajesh,
    This comes as a surprise

    @WA,
    Looks like Ferrari knows the history about Vijayakumar - Manjula family

    @Anthony,
    i never thought on those lines

    @Narayanan,
    This was a visa application

    @Vidya,
    Airlines are more bothered about increasing their revenue. They tend to lose a customer by turning down such a request

    @Jagan,
    It was not a matter site

    @Nyneishia,
    Thanks for dropping by. I guess the child will get the citizenship based on the dad's and mom's status

    @Venkitu Sir,
    Quite possible

    @Anish,
    The fact that this was given as an option came as a surprise to me.

    @Keerthi,
    I also feel that it is possible....but must be quite rare.
