Desi Playboy
This report in Asia Times believes that a desi Playboy edition is not too far away. Going by the nature of the proposed contest, it looks like Playboy has considered protests by RSS, VHP and Shiv Sena before finalizing the content. The final product could be ToI style pics with a Playboy name.

The tamil name is too lengthy and non-controversial. I would suggest 'Krishna' as the icon & nomenclature could be extended to any language ;-))
India already has tonnes of specialists like Indian Playboy - Debonair, and there are so many counterfeits. How will Playboy survive!?
Probably a TV channel with Indian content will be well recvd with advertisers & audience.

Playboy in Tamil? Must be a great competition for Vikatan and Kumudham!
I am also interested in knowing if culture vultures will object to PLayboy in Tamil. If Murasoli group starts distribution, will culture vultures still protest? Is it OK for Desi Playboy to have Tamil girls posing in the nude?
