News: Bill Gates to meet MK in Chennai tomorrow
Agenda: Replace Windows in Gopalapuram

On a serious note, I wonder what Bill Gates is going to achieve by meeting MK (apart from the obvious news clip for SUN TV and Tamil Murasu). Shouldn’t Bill Gates be more careful in granting appointments? I’m sure he values his precious time. Dayanidhi Maran is definitely making his ‘presence felt’ by getting Craig Barrett and Bill Gates to visit Chennai.

  • Maran might have projected MK as the next chief minister of TN. In that case, doesn't it make sense for BG to meet MK?

  • I guess MK is trying to steal JJ's thunder !

  • Whenever a foreign envoy or some one meets MK (& many other politicians), I used to wonder what they would talk, whether they would understand a joke or would his secretary would say "joke solraanga... siringa thalaivarae".

  • In my opinion there is no question of Bill Gates "granting appointment" to MK. I am damn sure that it must have been the other way around.

    What happens generally is, when a "Neutral VIP" (foreign dignitaries or even Indian PMs,Presidents etc) want to visit TN, people in Delhi inform them that TN politics is 'extremely bi-polar' and its better to keep both of them in good humor, for your own benefit so to speak...blah blah. etc.

    That's the real political reason as far as i understand.

  • @Krishna,
    Quite possible

    @Jayan,
    Not possible bcoz Amma is also meeting Gates

    @Chakra,
    LOL

    @Raajk,
    What you have said is very true. TN politics is bi-polar and hence the interested parties need to be good friends with both ruling party and opposition.
