Cho backs Amma

The Hindu has more:

Cho acknowledged the seven-party opposition Democratic Progressive Alliance as an arithmetically strong combination but expressed doubts about its ability to remain united for the coming elections.

  • I guess only Cho can attribute 'misuse of powers such as the Goondas Act' and 'rule of law' to the same government in the same speech. Cunning fellow, this Cho!

    His track record during the early days (1970's and 80's) used to be terrible: the party (parties) he supported ended up on the losing side, sometimes by large majorities. Did he do any better in 1990's and later? [I haven't been keeping track.]

  • Cho is the same. only people and politics has changed. He hasnt ;-)

    If someone says vote for DMK alliance, nothing can be more dangerous to tamilnadu!

  • I don't think Cho is relevant in TN pollitics, which is ruled by caste politics.

    Here is my prediction
    =====================
    1. DMK will struggle to come up wiht a amicable 'seat sharing' formula with its alliance partners
    2. Due to # 1, some alliance partners will break away from DMK grouping.
    3. DMK alliance will come to power but there will be a coalition govt in Chennai (for the first time ?)
    4. TN will see 3 Chief Ministers this year (who - I will leave it your imagination.. One is of course the present one J Jayalalitha)

  • If Cho is the same, by ferrari's reasoning, perhaps he should stick to acting (as a sidekick par excellence) in old movies?!?! We all know him for his quips, one-liners and wisecracks which, in today's faction & caste ridden politics, is as wanted as a fly in a soup! ;)

  • Being a rabid DMK hater, its no surprise that he has backed amma.I might be wrong but most people say that she has done really well during this tenure.

  • Cho vouching for 'Amma' is not a surprise. He has been doing that for years in 'thuqlaq'.

    As per ram viswanathan's prediction, I doubt the DMK alliance would split up, especially PMK, after what had happened recently with 3 PMK MLA's resigning and jumping into ADMK bandwagon. Moreover Ramadoss wanted to his son to continue in the union cabinet. Congress would not go out of DMK as Soniaji would not allow that to happen. The only weakest link is MDMK. I guess MK would have a plan for it.
