I don't see what the problem is with the dress code. Anyway I never had any such problems because the clothes I wore and still continue to wear are decent enough to fit into any dress code. It is high time people stop bothering about such trivial things and actually bother about doing some real work.

But then, frisking for cell phones is bad(in fact I dont see why cell phones should be banned even in class. Neway, most of the prof's at most colleges are idiots who became profs because they were incapable of getting jobs after their graduation and hence did their stupid Mtech's and Phd's and eventually became prof's), banning cell phones in the campus is bad and not practicing the green campus funda is also bad. While I agree that bikes should not be allowed in campus(when I was in campus bikes were allowed and people used to be pretty rash...I have had at least 6 near accidents in my 4 years of engineering ...when all I did was only walk in the campus), I guess they should also practice that...while security and other crappy concerns can be mentioned as reasons for taking the prof all the way till the door of the lecture hall, it is ok if the drivers employed drive in a safe and reasonable manner..but, working class guys(that too in big cities) were never known to be that way and hence I agree that the VC also better walk down to the classroom.
