IndiaTimes Wakes Up

IndiaTimes (mainly ToI and ET) was receiving lot of flak not just for the type of content but also the layout. As we all know, their stories ran into few pages making it a pain for all of us to navigate from one page to the other. It looks like they realized the mistake and have decided to offer all their articles in a single-page format. IBN Live lets the readers to choose between the single-page format and the multi-page format.

  • That is a welcome change. The multi page format was really annoying.

  • I am of the opinion that 70% of the website readers don't go beyond the first page (and that too headlines).So, if these companies want the viewers to come back, they should capture the events there.Rediff does an excellent job at that.Also,pics/snapshot are a must to grab the attention.

  • Are you sure on this? I am seeing stories with multiple pages.
    Some sample links

    Anyway TimesPagingRemover greasemonkey script ( http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/1481 ) takes care that.

  • @SLN,
    The is definitely better than before...hope they do something about the content as well.

    @Indian Blogger,
    Rediff does it well. I also feel that the attention span is limited.

    @Saravan,
    I remember that u told us about the Greasemonkey script earlier. most of the articles are in single page format. however some are still in 2 page format (this is a marked improvement from the earlier multi-page format)
