Join Me on Isolatr

Dear Blog Reader,

I'd like to recommend you to my other professional contacts, so here's an invitation to join my network on ISOLATR. It's an easy way to keep in touch with colleagues. It's free to join and takes less than a minute to accept my invitation. I hope you'll join me.

Every other day you get a mail like this asking you to join a service which serves as your online address book / contact list / networking service / birthday reminder etc. Although this might be a good way to stay in touch, the problem is that each one uses an altogether different service and hence you need to be part of multiple services (like Linked In, Names Database etc) to stay in touch. So far, I haven’t really registered with any of them. We have multiple Instant Messaging services (Yahoo, MSN etc) today and some IM services allow you to access multiple IM’s like Yahoo, MSN through a single login. I guess a similar consolidated service might be the way forward for online address book / networking sites. Till then I’ll have to use Isolatr :-) (via)

  • Apart from the multiplicity, it is also irritating to recieve such mails everyday. The best way, I think, is still the old email way. :)

  • Seem the registrations is closed for the moment, when I tried to join them, took me to http://isolatr.com/error.html and then clicking on a image over there re-directs me to http://www.metroblogging.com/ , does this mean this is part of MetroBlogging network ?

Also the message said "isolatr is getting lucky right now *wink* (please check back later), you can also view the image @ http://isolatr.com/error.gif !

  • MySpace and Facebook is for teenagers to trade messages on home pages loaded with photos, profiles, blogs, and more.Orkut is for young adults..discussions and dating stuff. LinkedIn is a 3-year-old social networking site for grownups(25-to-65-year-old category). Thatz how they are positioned. The Social Networking stuff is not very well understood in the Indian context.Check out this interesting article

  • Kaps, check the FOAF Project. If all bloggers at least create a FOAF profile for themeselves, we can do away with all blog directories :-)

  • @Greensatya,
