Sarath Kumar walks out of DMK

As expected, Sarath Kumar has quit DMK. Radhika's Radaan Mediaworks is heavily dependent on SUN Network for its revenues. It remains to be seen whether SUN Network will continue to offer prime time slots to Radaan.

  • Wow, that is a shock! Even in today's DC, it was reported that Radhika had brokered a patch-up.

    If true, this is a blow for the DMK, as the ADMK's campaign team is studded with stars (you can count Simran alone for five stars), and the DMK's depleted star group has lost its macho man.

  • Is Sarath Kumar gonna side with VijayGandh? That would be interesting.:-)
    Kaps, thanks for linking to my matrimonial post from DesiPundit.

  • From the Hindu: "Expressing surprise over Tamil actor Sarath Kumar's decision to resign from the DMK, party chief M Karunanidhi today requested the actor to "reconsider" his stand."
    Surprise?? Looks like this was a surprise only to M Karunanidhi!

  • Due to Radhika family's loyal support to DMK family, Sarath was hanging on the DMK front for quite sometime. As anticipated, he has done it. Now, what's next - would be a good question? Need to wait and see, as to how Radhika responds....

  • A wild guess - To ensure Radaan's success, Radhika might think about her nth divorce!

  • @VK,
    ADMK has lined up more stars, but there is no assurance that this would work to their benefit.

    @Nithya,
    Yes they were, but not anymore.

    @Deepa,
    You're welcome. Sarath might join the ADMK camp or lie low for sometime.

    @Krishna,
    MK should have definitely known that this was coming. Sarath was quite upset that he was not called for the stamp release function during Pongal (?). only Vijay was called. Sarath has every reason to feel that he was getting sidelined.

    @SLN,
    I dunno whether Radhika is in good terms with Kalanidhi Maran. The current tiff with MK might not matter if she has a good relationship with SUN Network.

    @Ram,
    Sun TV might respond faster than Radhika :-)

    @Surya,
    as u said, he has not done anything substantial

    @Karthikeyan,
    I don't think Sarath will withdraw his resignation. People will laugh at him

    @Blogeswari,
    that might happen soon. Sarath has no incentive to join ADMK now as he may not get a MLA seat for the current elections.

    @Ramya,
    are u saying that president's rule is the way out?

    @Casement,
    quite possible. tamil magazines have already been speculating on those lines.
