I am for Mylapore :-)
It looks like Napolean has turned tech-savvy to woo the Mylapore voters (via). I’m sure he would have got the idea from Lok Paritran. It’s not too often that Praveen blogs about serious stuff, so better listen to him.
IBN’s Tamil Blockbuster
CNN-IBN has been consolidating all their TN poll related articles under one page. The poll on TN’s biggest icon is also witnessing some action. There is hardly any difference between the various contenders. President Abdul Kalam and Isai Puyal A R Rahman lead the pack with 18% of the votes. Something tells me that ARR will win the icon poll and the CNN-IBN coverage will culminate with this show.

I guess, it seems like its a predeterminated poll. I'm really happy tht even my wild guess will going to be the real one.

During banglore episode, CNN -IBN telecasted the interview of Rahul dravid , who is adjudged as the icon of kanndiga and based on tht , i guess AR will be selected as the icon of tamilnadu as his competitor Rajni kanth is really hesitant for the media interview in recent times.

It could also be that Prez will not spare time for such polls to boast his popularity.. Anyway lets wait & see.. More seriously, why 3 cine personalties in their field. Why not M.S Swaminathan, or some businessman, say A.C.Muthiah? And why are they averse to politicians. Can't they find a consensus candidate for that field too..

These politicos want to be in step with the times so they can continue with their shenanigans don't they ? Well I appreciate the medium Napoleon has chosen to reach out to the educated elite of Mylapore,he will have to do more than that to win the privilege of representing this constituency. After all the proletariat has to get its pound of flesh. I see I have become utterly cynical :-)
Do we really need a poll to tell us who our icon should be ? A poll on the issues would be useful so awareness could be heightened.

I agree with Eshwar. I think its a gimmick to ward off Lok Paritran. They must have realized that there is this tech-savvy competition. If my hypothesis is true, then its great that Lok Partitran is taken seriously.
I really hope LP wins...

A square peg in a round hole ? Listing Mr.Kalam among other film personalities is demeaning. The only other sane option is Ms.Shantha.
BTW, there is a TN Special on CNN-IBN on Saturday at 9 pm. The participants - Cho, Suhasini. The preview was quite intriguing !

@Vignesh,
Even I feel that the results could be doctored.
@Avi,
I heard that there was some mail about this in Rajini fans group. As u rightly said, Abdul Kalam might not have the time to campaign for this.
I think P Chidambaram would have been a good choice. A C Muthiah is nowhere in the radar right now and we don't have any other industrialists (Narayanamurthy types) to be featured in the poll.
@Anand Srini,
Valid points there. I think Napolean is doing this out of external pressure. he just wants to prove that he is in tune with the times. I think he runs a tech firm (Jeevan Technologies) and those guys wud hv done all the work for Napolean.
@Eshwar,
LOL
@Santhosh,
I have my own doubts about LP's success.
@Jayan,
I know about the spl program. I intend to catch it later this week. The list is more skewed towards film stars.

IBN is getting places. First the blogs, then the videos, and now a page on the TN polls. These guys have a finger on the popular pulse.

@VK,
IBN is probably the best Indian news site today. they still need to work on the typos.
