After making a mark in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad, global fast food giant McDonalds has finally unveiled plans to set up shop in Chennai. McDonalds has had a close association with PVR Multiplex and the same relationship is likely to continue in Chennai as well. PVR Multiplex will be housed inside the AMPA Mall on Nelson Manickam Road and McD will also open its Chennai outlet inside the AMPA Mall.
While you are caught in the traffic jam on Nelson Manickam Road, you could possible walk upto McD and grab some take-away :-)

@Janum,
There are already clones like Marrybrown (Malaysian fast food company) operating in Chennai. Their style is very much similar to McD.

High time-was wondering why they were not present in Chennai

McD stuff purely for brand value. Just wondering what took them soo long?
I hope fries won't be beef-fat layered.

Now Chennai can get fat and obese on McD like the rest of the world! Fun!!

Madras has been safe from the tentacles of the american monster spewing cholesterol and trans fats. the grand plan of the imperial power and its associates spares no place.
the saving grace is that some jobs will be created and the restaurant serves hygienic food

@kaps
sorry for contradictin.. nobody can beat McD right from the quality of food, delivery time, the ambience or whatsoever that case! I remember waitin in Marrybrown, adyar for half an hour after ordering for just 2 (not sure about the food items).. pasi-la uyir ponadhu maraka mudiyadhu:(

Oh yeah..With regular fast burgers at the right ambience IN McD you can really save time..Who cares abt cholestrol and obesity and the sugar laden colas !! Time is indeed precious
PS :Anybody care to watch "Super Size Me" ?

every time we have had burger in Mary Brown, we had upset stomach...they certainly can't match the quality of mac..they should have opened it long time back and it should be in alwarpet vicinity.......we have more expats in chennai now than what bangalore or hyd has.

Lol for all the the sambhar rice munching conservative Tamils!
May be we should have auspiciously pure vegetarian Mac donalds beef burger.
So like any other restaurant in chennai it will soon start stinking inside (Like the shitty smell that hits you at KFC spencers) and will be open in a polluted and dirty part of Madras with prejudiced brahmin only serving staff.
