Paparazzi ToI-ishtyle
An official press release said Mr. Chidambaram and some members of his family (wife, son, daughter - in - law and grand-daughter) were dining out with some friends when the photographer of a newspaper approached them repeatedly and asked for permission to take photographs. Each time, his request was turned down as the family was on a private visit.
Police sources said there was a scuffle when the photographer of The Times of India attempted to take pictures as the family came out of the restaurant. An attempt was made to snatch his camera and in the melee the Minister tripped and fell.[Link]

TOI is trash. Even their print version which used to be a respected name in world media is going the way of the online version.
Instead of having articles on a single page they make you click on 6 or 7 links so they can show a higher hit ratio on their website. All their articles are covered in "Page 3" style journalism. Yet, people continue to grace their website with our presence.

i think it is a debatable issue here...
the fame that comes with being a big shot comes with an accepted price - loss of privacy. moreove, as a minister, i think it is perfectly fair if someone wants to know what mr.C was doing.
if it was a harmless dinner as they claim - all he had to do was pose, and that would have saved lot of controversy, no to mention his lil toe :)
